From time to time there are train or plane Strikes in France or the UK.  Always check before you book.  You can check the status of strike days for Eurostar here:

By Air:

Fly to Bordeaux or Paris, then take the TGV fast train to Angoulême. Or, fly to La Rochelle or Limoges and hire a car for the 90 min drive to the Logis. Use this link for Google Maps for your navigation.

By Train:

Trains tend to book up at least a month in advance, especially during holiday times, so we recommend booking your arrival and departure trains together with your flights. We also recommend booking a direct train, as it is much faster and simpler. 

From Bordeaux to the Logis:

Bordeaux is about 2 hours drive from the Logis (should you wish to rent a car), or 38 mins by train on the TGV to Angoulême (from where you could also rent a car). Bordeaux airport to Bordeaux TGV train station is about 40 mins in a taxi. Book train tickets inexpensively in advance with Ouigo

From Angoulême train station, which is about 45 mins drive from the house, you can hire a car if you wish, or we can collect you. Please let us know your estimated time of arrival and keep us updated along the way.

From Paris to the Logis:

Tip: Some of our guests in the past have arrived in Paris a day or two early to enjoy Paris and get over any jet-lag before the Retreat begins. In this case, plan your train bookings accordingly. If you stay in a hotel or airbnb on the Left Bank in Paris, Gare Montparnasse will be a fairly quick taxi ride.

We do not recommend hiring a car in Paris and driving from there. Traffic in Paris does not make driving enjoyable. We recommend taking the train and then if you still wish to hire a car, you can do so from Angoulême, our nearest TGV train station.

Trains to Angoulême leave from either Paris Montparnasse or Paris Massy train stations.

For Montparnasse:
From Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport, take a taxi to Montparnasse train station. Flat rates are set at 55 euro and it will take about an hour. If you would like to reserve a car in advance to pick you up right outside airport customs this service has been recommended to us: BT Transfers. Their rates are around 80 euro. From Montparnasse to Angoulême on the fast TGV trains is about 2 hours. For Massy Station:
From Charles de Gaul Airport, you can take a taxi, or take the RER B train to Massy–Palaiseau station (both about 1 hour 30 mins), then the TGV train to Angoulême (2 hours). Book train tickets inexpensively in advance with Ouigo
